Obviously I have had months to gauge my expectations, knowing that my experience likely does not parallel more than half of the USC MFA applicants. To my knowledge, I was provided pretty strong letters of rec from the executive director of an independent cinema I was a programming intern for and...
A pretty straightforward yet personal application. They wanted a narrative statement, two short films; one of which was in response to a specific prompt, and two short essays about those films.
I enjoyed writing the samples. I submitted early per the recommendation. It was pretty straight forward submission process. Of course I was paranoid that I would miss submitting some materials and so I checked everything a million times.
It was a nice process. NYU asks for some pretty interesting materials that were interesting to come up with. I didn't get the chance to be interviewed to see how that process would be.
Chapman's application process was the one that required the most materials from the applicants. At the same time, I think it helps to give them an insight and deep understanding of the applicants, it resulted in an honestly quite exhausting process, but that was worth it.
It was pretty good. USC requests a lot of material to get a better insight into the applicant's portfolio. It was nice gathering all this material and preparing it for the application. I was selected to interview, in which I felt very comfortable, it was truly a delight.
It was ok, AFI doesn't request as much material as other schools, and I believe that's a good thing. I guess I had a pretty good portfolio and what might have taken me down a bit was the interview, in which I was very nervous and guess felt too intimidated haha
I enjoyed the application process, particularly the personal statement. For the exercise, I shot it in August to give myself enough time for post. The interview portion went well too.
The application process was intense for me, not because the assignments were complex but because simpler things are more difficult to grasp because of their generality, they can be written in any way because the framework around them is limited hence I often questioned the quality of work I was...
Not bad, felt pretty good about my application. It was a ton of work and I stayed up for so many nights finishing my film in time to submit.
Interview went well I thought! It was in-person. Still waiting to hear back...
Quite a stressful process of many written materials and samples. This is my second time applying, first time I was denied so I didn't hold out for much hope but cool to know this time I was waitlisted!
Am I correct in thinking this email is implying I am guaranteed admission in Spring 2024 if I...
It felt like an age from applying, to hearing whether I was ultimately going to be offered a place. In the interim had begun applying for other schools as a backup. What I had not known when I first applied, it that when applying for the May intake, your application is also considered for the...
It's a pretty easy process! Your main application is your 15-20 page script (I did a TV script) and your 3-page statement of purpose. During the general info session (which I attended virtually, since I'm not from Georgia), a big thing they talked about in terms of who they're looking for is...
The interviewers are nice! They answered my questions in detail.
Submitted the TA application but didn't get any scholarships.

The application for the Brooklyn College Feirstein program process went well. This is my first time applying. Excited to see how the rest of this process goes.
The application for this program process went well. This is my second time applying, I also applied last year. Feeling more confident with this year's application.
So far the process has been smooth. One has to apply to the Texas University system then jump through the hoops for UT Austin and the RTF program specifically. I appreciated that once each category of the To-Do List was complete it disappeared from the list, making it easy for me to know exactly...
Application was extensive, and WAY too expensive. C'est la vie. SOA office has been very responsive to my questions. I enjoyed the writing prompt and am excited for my interview!
Had some technical difficulties on the Stony Brook application but the MFA office handled it for me easily. I was really impressed by the interview, it was clear they had actually read my application and were interested in me personally. Seems like a great program, community oriented with a...
