I'm not talking about grammar and spelling mistakes when youre trying to sell a screenplay, I'm talking about mistakes on a grad school application.
Has anyone of you got admitted to grad school but made some grammar and spelling mistakes in your application?
It's a generalization, but it's not a gross generalization. I know that every school varies on how much emphasis they place on your grades and published work, but schools never trust their own abilities to judge a person's potential, no matter how much they try.
Not only do schools care about...
I know how they judge your potential but I'm saying is that it's how much harder to evaluate than your portfolio.
If potential was so easy to judge, studios wouldn't have a terrible track record with movies that bomb or hit. And studios also prefer writers with better credientials.
And to be...
I'm not part of any school. But I think that most schools care about your portfolio than your potential. It's hard to see how much potential a person has, so it's safer for them just to judge from your portfolio.
Does anyone know how is the film school at Loyola Marymount University, in particular their screenwriting program?
There seems be an absent of posts of Loyola on this forum.
I am considering of applying there next year but just want to gather more information.
Okay, I know there is already a accepted, rejected thread in this forum but if you're waitlisted, you can post in this thread.
Just to sort things easier.
It says "Please contact the Chapman University campus to whichyou applied for information about your status." for my status check through Chapman's website...
I don't know what this is supposed to mean but it looks more bad than good...

I don't know which program you are applying to, but even if you're applying to writing, I do not consider 5 to be low. I believe the writing tests your analytical...
I was notified I was rejected frmo NYU for MFA in Screenwriting. Definitely disappointed but can't say I'm surprised given the reputation of NYU and how I somehow rushed my application.
I don't think the requirements are that high...but how is that relevant whether I am asking the question or not.
I'm just curious how many people that apply actually have the minimum requirements. I know that some people apply anyways, even if they don't meet the requirements, just to gamble...
even if you don't meet the minimum requirements that were posted on their website? Such as having a lower GPA, couldn't get all the recommendation letters, etc...
Because it seems really hard to get into film school (I heard that only like 10% of the students get accepted) but the requirements...
My application for screenwriting is still under evaluation. I guess the good part is that I'm not rejected yet but I wouldn't classify that as good news yet.
