It's been a very smooth application experience. Except for the usual application materials, I also submitted a questionnaire requested by the school. The interview was very impressive. I felt the passion of the interviewer and how interactive and diverse the program is.
Hi guys!
This is my second year applying to the Chapman Producing program and getting a waitlist again, feeling frustrated😭.
I want to ask how many of you have got waitlisted from Chapman? Especially for the producing program.
Since I am an alumni, I wasn’t worried. During the interview they asked me about why I wished to return when I could go anywhere else. I told them about Chapman’s strengths and how it is the most versatile of all film schools I’ve applied to because of the resources available to the students...
It went smoothly. I enjoyed figuring out my own goals during the process and I like how columbia asks for a lot of different material to understand the storyteller in you.
The process for the Stark program is a little different as they have a total of eight questions that need to be answered rather than a personal statement or any writing samples/visual submissions. It was a little challenging trying to make all answers work together to tell my story, but...
I loved the AFI application process - specifically the Vision Statement exercise. I also found all of the admission information sessions really helpful, with all the staff really friendly and welcoming. The interview process was also smooth - they made me feel very at ease straight away.
The interview went very quickly (about 19 minutes) so I keep thinking that if my interviewer doesn't like me lol He asked me some questions about my work and my favorite movies. I don't think I answered well... Kind of nervous for my first interview.
AFI is definitely my most wanted school. Have no time to apply to it last year so I cherish this chance a lot this year. Already finished my interview. Waiting for the result in anxiety now...

We're compiling a Best Film Schools listicle and need your input! We welcome opinions ONLY from current students, former students who attended for at least 2+ semesters, and alumni at U.S...
My application turned out pretty amazing in the end. I learned a lot from completing my application to LMU. The story that I came up with from the writing prompt was much better than I could have ever imagined it would be. One thing that I did not like about Chapman is that the writing prompt...
It was interesting, however as an international student they did not make it easy for me to send documents that are not the norm to send in my country. They also never reply to calls and I had issues with them receiving my test scores.
First time MFA applicant. Just received my interview notification today, surprised it came before UCLA given that that application was due a month earlier than Columbia's. Fingers crossed on the interview.
Hi all! I've been checking this site for some time (has been such a help!) but I have never seen anyone speak about Depaul's MFA in Creative Producing. Does anyone have any knowledge of the program? I applied because the new location in LA is intriguing to me but I have found it difficult to...
I've submitted my whole package at 1st Dec, cuz' I started writing my narrtive statement late.
My application package includes:
1music video WOMXNLY as my video sample ;
2 short answers;
1 treatment, about a warm but cruel family drama;
1CV & 2RL
Got an interview Email and scheduled it at...
It has been really smooth. They were really kind and helpful. Everything was very clear.
I was finishing a production during the application time so it was a little crazy on my end, but it ended up very good and on time.
I asked over 15 friends and family members to read my application and that...
Hello everyone!
Update on the application process. Just received an email from AFI to schedule an interview for next week. So Excited! :) Anyone else has any news?
Any tips for the interview? Any questions you guys know I should prepare?
Thank you!
The essays have a very strict word limit so I recommend getting an editor to help you refine what you'd like to say after doing the first few passes yourself. I also designed a resume/biography document that somewhat encompasses everything I might want to say about myself and showcasing my...
Columbia University is my dream school. I felt so nervous now. Anyway, the application is out of my hands now.
I submitted four short films for the optional visual submission.
My autobiographical essay is 6 pages long. I enjoyed the application process.
The application system is also very easy...
Lots of writing! Proud of both of the screenplays I wrote (the film prompt and the dramatic writing sample). Fitting the feature film treatment on a single double-spaced page in Courier font was difficult, but I got it in the end. I wish the autobiographical essay had more of a prompt.
I liked how it asked to add more to the resume than you typically would include. It was a lot of short essay questions with varying character limits rather than one or two longer essays.
I was emailed about interviewing on February 1, 2022, but they do not give you options to choose from-- they...
