Complete the AFI Scholarship Application

Financial need and scholarships are not factored into the AFI Conservatory admissions process, but all Fellows are eligible for internal funding. The average award for an AFI first-year Fellow is $10,000. Three full-ride scholarships are offered each academic year; 5 in 150 students have their tuition paid in full. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, in 2023, Canva partnered with the AFI Conservatory to provide $240,000 scholarships to six incoming Fellows.

To apply for institutional funding as a domestic or international student ranging from $5,000 to full tuition, complete the Scholarship Application form by February 1, 20234. Click here to complete the 2024-2025 form (open on September 7, 2023 through the posted deadline). The Scholarship Application requires applicants to state their intended discipline, estimated monthly living expenses, student loan debt, and more.

The AFI Conservatory’s Office of Financial Aid receives Scholarship Application Forms. Scholarship decisions are sent via email after admissions decisions. Late Scholarship Applications may not be considered. (Note: The Admissions Application is due before the Scholarship Application.)

The AFI Scholarship may be renewed after the first year of study, depending on academic progress. The Office of Admissions also encourages applicants to pursue non-AFI funding opportunities before receiving an admissions decision.
