I put TV writing and producing there, as I didn't see the showrunner thread. But the application portal says it's called Showrunner Program. Maybe it's a new thread?
The application process is clear and straight forward. The required materials are similar to those of USC's, and basically the...
My first time applying. Application process was not bad. Biggest challenge was submitting 2 completed writing samples. Other than that it was pretty straightforward. I submitted an hour long drama and an half hour dramedy. I applied for the TV writing track.
Smooth; my first time applying. Re: questions, USC's admissions department was responsive and helpful.
I am open to answering questions about the process.

Smooth; my first time applying. I had one brief, general meeting with an LMU SFTV recruiter prior to applying.
(1/29) I did not hear back regarding interviews when Writing and Producing for TV MFA candidates did.
I am open to answering questions about the process...
Smooth; my first time applying. I was encouraged to reach out to past/current faculty members to understand if DePaul was right for me.
I am open to answering questions about the process.

It all went relatively smoothly. I already had a CV: it’s not packed, because I have never had a job, but my current place of study has collaborative kind of mentality, so I worked on couple projects for clients.
Personal statement… kinda boring. Just a funny story and some yapping about my...
Simple, well-put together application and fairly straight-forward. All materials have long descriptions of expectations. A video portion is required to answer questions. Full-length original 1/2 hour screenplay a major factor in the application
This process went pretty well and I'm glad I had done it before because I was a little more prepared than last year, especially for some of the more random supplemental materials. Plus, my UC Riverside app had a lot of material that I could reuse for these prompts so that was good. Somehow I...
The application process went very smoothly for me! I found out about Chapman near the end of summer 2024. Prior to this, when I brought up my desire to attend film school, I'd only really had people recommend UCLA, USC, NYU, and the like. Chapman, and specifically Dodge College, seemed to differ...
This one was kind of rough. Really exciting program but wow, the directions were very confusing. Their site has a ton of old info that directly conflicts with the actual application instructions and there isn’t even a clear due date because lots of the deadlines on the site and in promotional...
This one was rough. A FOUR PAGE SOP?! I don't know, maybe I'm old and tired, but it just felt like that was such a huge canvas that I didn't really need, but I didn't want to be that guy who only used like two pages, so I felt like I was filling it with so much fluff. I applied for the general...
Another one of those weird places that wants you to submit on two different platforms. I find that sort of annoying honestly lol. I really like that you could submit a full screenplay, but I definitely turned this in during a really hectic time and I already found a typo - eek! I've heard that...
Application wasn't too bad. I really felt like I vibed with the 750 word limit this year where in the past it's sometimes felt too short compared to other programs. As always, glad that there's crossover between this application and the RTF, and it felt like that was made slightly more seamless...
Very straight forward application with freedom of open prompts. Can include two half-an-hour screenplays for television or one feature-length screenplay. Personal statement and statement of intent required. No other essays required.
Lengthy application with multiple prompt sections. Long form essays, speaking about experiences included as well. Only allows for up to 10 pages of a screenplay. Not challenging, but definitely takes a decent amount of time. Financial aid prompts and additional screenplay to receive scholarships
The application itself was pretty straightforward. I was a little disappointed with the online info sessions, since the one I attended was not at all geared toward helping current applicants. The moderator was just asking a group of grads about their experience at AFI, but not in a helpful way...
No big surprises or administrative hurdles. I also applied to the grad producing program and they did have me rank the two programs in terms of preference which I thought was interesting. The two scene prompts were interesting and fun to get into.
The application process for Northwestern has been okay so far! I will say it's been a little challenging to answer so many general statements without feeling like I'm saying the same thing over and over again, but I think I struck an okay balance with it all. I appreciate that they ask for a...
Applying to the BU Screenwriting Program felt really straight forward and relatively simple, compared to some other schools! I enjoyed how the Kira assessment gives the school an opportunity to see and hear their applicants talk about their work. It was also nice to be able to submit 2 ten-page...
The application process has gone smoothly, though I will say there are a few things about the application site itself that are a little confusing. There's no official submission button, which feels a little nerve-wracking- and it also takes a good while for letters of recommendation to appear on...
