Hey Winter,

I remember you mentioning that Joe Slowensky had given you the option of switching disciplines a little while ago. I wonder if you would tell me a bit more about how that all came about? Was it because there was suddenly more elbow room in Directing, or was it something you had petitioned for?

The reason I am asking is because I got admitted into my second choice and waitlisted for my first. So I am just wondering what I'll do with a Masters in FS (other than going on to get my PhD), and toying with the idea of a second possibility.

I actually was given the opportunity because I was one of the first admitted and so they hadn't closed the directing option (Screenwriting was the first full my year.)

However, at the end of the first year you are given the option to switch disciplines. But as FS you will have access to all the producing and sw classes your heart desires. Get involved the first semester and get to know the head of producing. It will really be her call.
