How can students best prepare for the short workshops on the application?


Jen Warwick: If a candidate has a successful interview, they'll learn a bit about the short workshop for their course. If they ace the initial interview and the panel invites them to attend the short workshop, they'll receive much more information about the requirements.

We also hold our course-specific open days where we cover how to prepare for the interview portion and the general idea of what to expect in a short workshop.

Emily Gash: That's right. On our open days, the heads of departments touch upon how to prepare for short workshops. Cinematography, Post-production, Editing, Sound Design, Composing, Documentary, Production Design — quite a few courses have them.

Thanks so much for sharing this interview! I actually joined the virtual open day early March so some of these things I already knew but it's still nice to get some extra inside information! I'll be putting in my application somewhere at the end of this month, fingers crossed!
