2007 Accepted? Rejected?

No I got it literally at 2am cuz i stay up online till like 3 am since I am taking a few months off work and obviously Im not in school anymore, so I spend half my day online and the other half either reading or sleeping. Yeah, it was real sad, but I kinda deserved it after sending them a rough application... I heard a lot of people got their rejections on the 28th, I don't know why mine came so late...

I'm supposed to hear from UCLA either this week or next (although I think it'll be next week since tomorrow is Friday). The suspense is killing me!

Thanks, guys. I was anxious that I was missing something...they must have mailed out the rejection letters at the same time they were calling for interviews?

It's weird, I've always thought I stood the best chance at UCLA and the least chance at USC. UCLA's deadline was the earliest by quite awhile, but they had no page limit. USC took so few pages, and I don't feel good about my Creative Challenge scripts.

Ugh, I just want it to be over, no matter what the outcome. I'm sick of the waiting.

Winterreverie-

I have not heard anything yet. Congrats again on getting in. While you sit and wait for UCLA, how are you feeling? Are you beginning to lean one or the other yet?

I just want this to be over as well! I got my rejection from UCLA...thought my application was rushed so I wasn't really disappointed. I worked pretty hard on my USC and Chapman aps but still waiting to hear from both of them.

UCLA is killing me! They told me their last interview is on April 22nd, and that we wouldn't hear decisions until after April 24th! So late...

Yay. USC asked for copies of my tax return today via email.

I'm certain it's because they just got my FAFSA transmission, but I haven't heard a single word from them, to the point I was beginning to wonder if they lost my app.

Woot.

(small victories, people!!)

Definately a good sign jayimess.

Matt, seems like now I'm leaning more towards chapman. I have a phone meeting with the head of the dept on tuesday (Hopefully to discuss fellowships and financial opportunities, because I can't imagine why else he would schedule an actual meeting with me?)

There are highs and lows to both schools, so its really going to depend on the financial package for me.

Hi, I originally posted this in a thread I started about getting into USC (in my excitement, I forgot about this thread at the time)...

Just wanted to let you all know that my USC letter was postmarked on the 3rd (Tuesday). I'm in L.A., so I imagine more people will get their notifications by this weekend or early next week!

Hey everyone,

I called Chapman today about my status. I spoke to Joe Slowensky himself. I didnt hesitate to say what i needed to. I told him "I am extremely enthused by Chapman and that is why I want to know where I stand. I am to make a decision on other schools soon and I don't want to make such a decision without knowing where I stand w/ Chapman. Is there an approximate time as to when the decision will be made on me? " He said "Yes, Tima, I know of your application and I know that it is currently under evaluation. There are 20 more left and you are one of them. We asked those whom we are considering to send us extra material. " So I asked "Is there anything I can do to save time? Maybe send in my material right away?" And he said, "yes that would be nice, Im sure by the time it gets here we will be near done with your review". I then apologized for pushing or pressuring the committee to make a move on my application. Its just that I don't want to make a decision without knowing where I would have stood with Chapman. And its kinda bothering me that I applied priority and haven't heard a thing!

So yes, I will send them my material. I also asked Columbia for an extension through email. So Im waiting to see what they say.

yay.

I hope you get in. It may be selfish, but I think it'd be great to start on this film school journey with friends... and since I'm leaning towards Chapman...

By the way, how was Joe Slowensky? Did he seem nice? Laid back? Or a little...Hollywood? It would be nice to know what to expect when he calls me on Tuesday.

He seemed real nice Winterrevierie. He was very patient with me even though my request was not very conventional. Most people don't even mention that they applied anywhere else let alone ask for their evaluation process to be sped up. It is kinda politically wrong, especially if you would like to get admitted! But he was totally nice.

Really? Cause I let him know right off that I had applied to UCLA and was a finalist and needed to be sure that Chapman could offer me at least as much as UCLA promised (at least what Rory and Marina had said). That must be why he wanted to meet with me. Hmmm.

Well Winterreverie,
For you its different because you have already been accepted, so you don't have much to worry about. For me, calling them and telling them they need to hurry up on my application when I have no idea how much I am worth to them is kinda pushing it. Don't you think? haha
