Where do you get your ideas?

Most of my ideas come from a character I think of. I then create a story around them.

Sometimes I may get an idea from a dream or an event that has happened as well.

Most of my ideas start with a really interesting title and from that point the entire remainder of the story seems to come. Typically the better the title the better my story. Probably a little backwards from how people normally write, but I think creating my title first allows for me to craft a story worthy of it.

Gosh I can have a complete screenplay finished and still not be sold on a title! I tend to go with the best I can think of and hope it's renamed later if it's ever sold. lol

Mine come from the rat that lives inside of my hat, and pulls on my hair every so often to write down the ideas that he comes up with. Sure, it might sound like a one-sided relationship, but I give him plenty of cheese and assorted grain to make the transaction VERY much worth his while.
