UT Austin Screenwriting MFA 2026

Hi everyone

Hopping on to say that I received an acceptance today. Super, super excited about this program! For any future lurkers on this thread, I received my invite on Feb 9th to interview either that Wednesday or Friday. Interviews were scheduled to last twelve minutes. Received an email & a phone call on the 16th which seems consistent with timelines from previous years.

Good luck to all with programs & decisions still pending the waiting game is a tough one

This was the regular MFA Screenwriting program, and I also got my acceptance today!

This was the regular 2-year MFA Screenwriting program. They have accepted 7 so far, and I was one of them. Letters went out yesterday.

Not sure Michener does interviews.

I received a formal rejection from Michener. No word from Austin so I assume it's a rejection.
