Hey! I noticed you had your interview recently. Hope it went smoothly! If you don’t mind sharing, how was it?

hey! yea i just had it this morning. it went well, i was super nervous but the interviewers were chill. looks like they ask the same questions to everyone, "what have you been up to since submitting your application?", "why UCLA?", "what directors inspire you?", "what hobbies/interests do you have outside of film?", and "any questions for us?" we went slightly over the 15 minutes, but looks like the time limit is relatively strict.

So happy to hear that! I was super nervous too. mine was challenging for me, the hardest part was explaining what kind of films I want to make. Did they ask you that as well? And for the directors question, did they ask for commentary or just favorites.?

thanks! hope your interview went well too :)

they did ask about what kind of films i wanted to make at UCLA, the question slipped my mind for some reason. i told them about an idea i had for a short film, and then described my thematic interests more broadly. forgot to bring up my treatment, not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.

and for the directors question, they asked for commentary i think? they said i should name 1-2 directors, and i remember talking about why they interested me.
