Application Database nomenclature discussion - Add, track, or log?

Hey Chris, I'm happy to upload the application but worried about sharing personal private data.
I just want to be clear that when I say "add your application to the site" I don't mean upload what you actually submitted to USC (although people sometimes do... especially after decisions go out).

Adding applications to the site at it's very basic level adds the following useful and relatively anonymous information that is helpful to people:
  • Important dates (submission, notifications etc)
  • Country of applicant
  • Film experience
  • Undergraduate degree
  • General description of what you submitted and how it went
  • Interview experience (optional)
  • GPA (optional)
  • Test scores (optional)
  • Etc...
Also, most of what you share is private and can only be seen by site members.

See past applications on the site for examples of what type of info is included.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the personal response, I understand now. Of course I'd be happy to share that non-sensitive data.

Maybe I should change the wordage on the button to "track application" or similar so people don't think we want you to upload your actual application. 🤔

I'm open to suggestions.
That could help. I know at the end of my actual USC application today on their site, I was able to download the entire thing for my record, which is what I thought you were asking for. Maybe verbiage like: "Share Unique Details of Your Process", or "Upload Your Info for Application Statistics" Or something more descriptive in the title itself. Either way, your awareness and response helped, so thanks. Those are my two suggestions lol.

Hmmm... How about "Log Application" for the action button? That makes it much more clear I think.

Simplicity versus clarity. This is indeed the writer's dilemma.
Ah yes. I'm constantly rewriting and tweaking the voiceover for the show I edit and produce as it has to very succinct and impactful.
