I'm a guy.

My interview on the 26th was good. I was real nervous--naturally--but the "individual portion" was more of a conversation that an interview. Three faculty members ask you a few questions in succession. The whole process of interviewing, touring, waiting, and a group exercise lasted about five hours. I've seen people make comments about it in prior forum posts indicating the whole thing felt like a test but I think that's ridiculous and fueled by anxiety--again, which is kind of normal. But, the whole thing is just them trying to get to know you. And if you're comfortable with yourself, then it shouldn't be too intimidating.

So what kind of questions did they ask? What did u guys do in group interview

I think someone previously posted questions that they ask. And they were spot on--mine were very similar if not exactly those same questions. Some people in my group got questions that were only slightly different, mainly in wording. And trying to get the same idea or infomation about you. Like--"What's a movie you like and why?" and "Why FSU?" They really are just trying to get to know you. And letting you get to know them. So, I feel like its important not to say "the right answers" and simply express your true opinions feelings thoughts and beliefs about film-making and your life and worldview.

Oh and the group thing is different every time. You come up with a six minute movie with five other people based on prompts that you all have to agree on. But, its at random so there's no point in trying to prepare for it.

i was planning to wear a suit to the interview...but do you think that's over dressing?

I'm thinking a nice shirt and pants but no suit. I want to be comfortable. Plus a suit is always hot, no one wants to be hot.

A suit would be fine, I think. I under-dressed and felt a little self-conscious. But anything approaching a suit should be good; apparently people tend to wear a huge range of stuff.

Seems like an awesome program, btw! I bungled a few of my interview questions and am tempted to call/email and clear things up/express interest in the program. Good idea/bad idea? Should I call my handler?

Every guy at my interview wore a suit. Also, M Dawg, I'm sure many of us had a question or two where we later thought of a better answer. If I was given the chance I would clear things up for sure... but I don't recommend calling/e-mailing. They make decisions on what they see during the admissions process, which I think is pretty fair. Anyhoo, I'm sure you were fine! good luck

This is how you should look at it: since you're one of the few doing a Skype interview, you'll have more of an opportunity to stand out from the crowd! Always best to look on the bright side of things...

i did mine on sunday 8:30am. I was the first to go..like someone posted.. i wasn't too nervous when the interview happened but kept playing the conversation in my mind afterwards... -_-;;

need to get rid of thinking about it...*sigh*

I have my interview on the 25th, and im starting to feel the nerves. I'm not sure what to expect, and how to prepare, i've only been looking at my statement of p urpose and my letters rec. not sure what else to do, if there's anything else to do.
