NYU Dramatic Writing MFA Fall 2026 (1 Viewer)

Hi! I just had my interview with Robin, it was very chill and comfortable. We basically talked about why I wanted to do an MFA, go to NYU specifically, talked a little bit about my samples and then there were some general questions. They ask a lot about how you feel about feedback because i feel the program is based on that a lot, so just say you're open to feedback and having your work reviewed by other people. Other than that i would just say be yourself and try to be comfortable in the conversation. also, ask as many question as you can. she was very helpful!
Yeah, I talked to Daniel Goldfarb and the conversation was like only 15 min long because I didn’t have many general questions besides asking about class schedule bc I’d done the DW summer program in high school and actually almost went to Tisch for undergrad.

He had a couple of comments about the pilot I submitted and how the program is inter-disciplinary and if I would consider turning it into a play.

The most interesting part was he said he wanted to make sure I had a way to get to Tisch and could reasonably commute from where I live because he said a lot of people don’t plan for that. I live in Jersey and commute for work to Tribeca anyway so it would be the same for me, and he seemed happy with that answer.

Other than that, it was a really chill conversation, and he was a cool guy.

Incase anyone is wondering, I was told they're doing interviews till next week :) Mine went really good!
That's great to hear! Good luck everyone.
