Hello,

I have applied to several colleges for MA/MFA programs in order not to risk my chance of ending up nowhere. So far my situation is this:

UK
Art University Bournemouth - Accepted
University for the Creative Arts - Accepted
University of York (Cinematography) - Accepted
Goldsmiths, University of London (Cinematography) - Waiting for response

USA
San Francisco State University - Accepted
California State University Los Angeles - Called for interview
San Diego State University - Called for interview
City College of New York - Waiting for response

CANADA
Concordia University -
Rejected

I was closer to studying in the US as California hosts Hollywood, on the other hand being able to work after graduation in USA is hard. SFSU was my biggest dream whereas it seems hard to live in San Francisco now and I am curious about the result I get from all the money I will have paid. San Diego is closer to Los Angeles and the program seems nice but there were bad reviews. CCNY seems very nice but I am not sure how hands-on it is and what kind of links it has. LA has some theatre in the program.

The acceptance rates of these schools are like this:
SFSU 85%
LA 79%
CCNY 51%
SDS 34%

This suggested to me that San Diego is the most prestigious but Backstage lists San Francisco among 25 schools.

I may work for two years in the UK if I finish a UK school. I would like to be in London so I am waiting for the response of Goldsmiths but other than that I feel closer to AUB. UCA is also a good art school but it is in Farnham, a small town and I suppose AUB is more well-known. University of York is the best in terms of rankings but it isn't much seen in film school lists, so I thought it is better academically.

Have you ever studied in these colleges? Which university has more ties with the industry?

Hello,
I am also looking for a MA program (UK).

And my current list is
MA Documentary Filmmaking - Northern Film School - Leeds Beckett University
MA in Filmmaking – Raindance Film School - De Montfort University
MA in Filmmaking - Sheffield Hallam University

If there are others, please share. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, which school did you finally end up going to? Any idea how the Goldsmiths MA programme is?
