Northwestern Writing for the Screen and Stage MFA 2026

Hi everyone

I received an invite to interview on Jan 26th. It was a very welcomed surprise! The timeframe seems bumped up compared to previous years I think due to the application deadline moving from mid-January to early December. Interviews were scheduled for 15 minutes with core faculty members.
Nice! Congrats on your interview.

Did you submit a feature or pilot for your sample?

haven't heard back post-interview, but still hopeful! anyone else

haven't heard back post-interview, but still hopeful! anyone else?
i know at least one person has been accepted because i saw a post about it!!! that was weeks ago so i feel like a rejection notice would have come already— maybe they are still waiting for all of the candidates they chose to confirm

Update— I received my official waitlist notification today. Congratulations to everyone offered admittance!
Congrats! Good luck getting off of it! Did you get accepted elsewhere?

Please log your applications when you can. It really helps future applicants!

FYI - UNLV just announced they have an open screenwriting spot if you want to apply:
