I want to attend a film school in New York City. The problem is that it feels as though NYU is the only university centered around film for an undergraduate, and even if I were able to get into it, I definitely would not be able to afford the tuition. I've looked at other schools such as CUNY with Brooklyn College and City College, but I'm not sure how good an education, as well as connections, I'd be able to get at these schools, but with the more affordable tuition, they seem like the only option if I want to be in the Big Apple. Despite this, I know that New York is the place I want to be, but I want this dream to be realistic, though. I know there are definitely job opportunities in the city, and being able to make connections while in college is a big plus, but I'm just trying to be realistic. I've applied to CSUN, SFSU, FSU, and UT Austin for colleges outside of NYC, and I am waiting for a reply from them. Going to college outside of New York and looking for a job within is also in the realm of reality. I am definitely open to this as well. I'm willing to weigh my options, but yeah, I know this may sound silly or unrealistic, but it's the place I want to be to pursue the thing that I love.
