LMU fall 2013

Hello everyone, I got accepted to LMU. There's not too much information about this school on this forum...Anyone else is going to LMU?

I've heard good things. Here's the info from the Hollywood Reporter

19. Loyola Marymount University
LMU's 10-year-old School of Film and Television, which separates itself from the pack by stressing humanism over commercialism, is still all about getting students into the industry: One-third of all students nab internships, which often lead to real jobs (being based in L.A. helps). The new Incubator Lab matches students with real-world mentors for 18 months after graduation -- and funds one winning project. More socially conscious than most, LMU film professors mentor inner-city teens each summer, and some win scholarships. In a changing film and TV industry, new Dean Stephen Ujlaki has a vision for the future.
TUITION $37,605 for undergraduates; $985 per unit, plus tuition and fees for graduates
DEGREES B.A. in film, TV, animation and recording arts; MFA in film, TV and screenwriting
NOTABLE ALUMNIBrian Helgeland (Mystic River), Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants), Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer)

My wife went there and enjoyed it - but she was getting a Master in education. :)

I've been accepted to the MFA Film and Television Production as well. Have any of you got back any financial aid info back from the school yet?

Awesome! Glad to see some future classmates on here!

No financial aid info, but I am receiving a pretty small scholarship (an Incentive Scholarship). Not really sure if they give that out to many or what the deal is there.

Awesome! I live in Northern California. I take it from your profile that you currently live in Singapore?

I'm an international student and I come from China. I lived in singapore before.

If you don't mind, you can message me your email address, we can talk about the housing etc. :D

Hi. nice to see you here~ no, got nothing else. just an admission letter.

And I was wondering you guys are male or female? I'm female.

I wish you the best with whatever school you choose. You're in a great position--can't really go wrong with either choice!
Thank you :)
However, the course I applied to Chapman is Film & TV Producing, that means I will go on a total different way. But I think being a producer suits me better :P

Hi everyone, congrats on being accepted at LMU! I'm an alum of the Screenwriting graduate program and I'm producing a film with an LMU professor this summer. We're shooting entirely on the LMU campus and we're looking to fill out the crew--we are particularly in need of grips, PAs, a prop master, and a craft services person.

If anyone is going to be in LA at the end of July and into the first week of August, we would love to have you on set! All production positions are unpaid, but we'll feed you (breakfast and lunch) and this would be a great opportunity to meet and network with some LMU students and professors as well as an opportunity to use the film/tv facilities before school starts. Please contact me if you're interested!
