Peter Stark Producing Program 2013/2014

I've been following this thread for a minute - and was always too nervous to even post - but now I'm happy to say that I got my phone call today and I'm in!!! Super excited and looking forward to meeting some of you in the fall!

@Coins - Congratulations!

I probably will apply next year to the Stark program - it's the best out there.

Good luck to the rest on tomorrow...

Hey guys I have no idea why but I got an early call.

Henry called, and I am in! I seriously cannot believe it guys, I can't, I can't.

Rooting for all of you now, fingers crossed.

Got the call as well.
I was and still am completely elated !
Congrats to those who the call too !
And for those wait listed, best of luck. It isn't over yet, keep believing!

Congratulations Raised By Wolves, Arnetta and S6!!!
To the others who are on the wait list, remember that it still could happen for you! If you're one of the first couple on the list there is a high chance you'll get in! Some admitted students won't accept Peter Stark... Hard to believe...

Congratulations again to everyone! As people have mentioned before, even being waitlisted is a huge feat. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment just completing the application. It was quite a project.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I only ask because I know I'm not the only one who applied to other producing programs. I was excited about UCLA's program, and applied because I believed in that program as well. I'm pretty much sure I'm a Starkie now, but was just wondering how others felt.

@Coinsquolino, a facebook group would be awesome.

But Coins, I wonder why some of international applicants already received rejection, some not.And why was that?

Some of the rejected students already received the news in the mail a few days ago, but being an international student you shouldn't expect to find mail from USC tomorrow..! Last year I got my rejection letter a month after the notification date, when I had already figured out that I hadn't made the cut :-P

As a general rule: f you're in, you should get a call on your mobile tomorrow!

@film_buff USC sends rejection letters via mail, so it takes longer for international applicants to receive them!

Last year I got my rejection letter in mid-March when the acceptance notification date was mid-February :-(

Oh, I see. It really help.Means I was rejected by USC if I didn't get interviewed or a phone call.Right? I don't need expect anymore. Anyway thx.

@film I know it sucks :( but keep your hopes up, you can apply again next year, USC loves re-applicants that show determination and improvement!

I know how you feel right now but keep fighting :)

@Coinsquolino I'm so happy for you! You have been a great leading voice on these boards.

Maybe you already answered this, but did you change your application greatly from last time? If so, what do you think was the most significant change you made?

I am definitely going to reapply! Thanks for the inspiration. That goes for everyone!

Hi All! Its activezero311 again. I hope my post last year helped at least one person. I applied this year again and this time I got wait-listed..... so let's see what happens... I received my wait-list email first on the 28th of Feb.

Hello eveyrone¡ I was so scared (and traveling) that I waited until today to check my email with propper email connection on my laptop and I just saw Im in¡ Congratulations to everyone else¡ I´ll see you in the fall!

@thatgirl thank you for the kind words!

I did change things in my application, but not much: I didn't re-take the GRE, I didn't change recommendation letters.

But I did re-write my essays, both of them. In the months between application I really matured a sense of why I wanted to go to Stark, why I was so let down when I didn't get in the first time, why it made sense reapplying to USC only.

My essays were radically different. It's not a matter of passion - because I was as passionate this year as I was last year - it really was a matter of focus and motivation, and personal reasons for wanting to attend Stark and not another MFA.

I strongly encourage reapplying if you think that Stark is the perfect fit for you. Take your time to understand why you want to go to Stark so much, what you think it can offer to you personally, what makes it stand apart from all other programs.

It was a really long process for me :) understanding my motives more deeply was definitely what helped me the most. Rewriting more focused essays was the most significant change (almost the only change) I made!

@guerrera congrats!

@thatgirl oh and I forgot, major change in my resume. I learned how to better showcase what I have done in the past and gained some interesting new experience in the meantime :)
