Peter Stark Producing Program 2013/2014

I am sorry freaky and JOAT.
I hope this will not deter you from pursuing your passions.

Will everyone get notified via snail mail then?

About the oscars.
@Ubi: you are right about Waltz.
@JOAT: I feel the same way about Les Mis. Glad Anne Hathaway won.
I was somewhat disappointed by the best actress award. As a spectator, I had enjoyed the characters from other movies much more than Silver Lining Playbook.
Also I was rooting for Bombay Jayashree to win best song for her Pi's lullaby song. Adele was good, but I thought Pi's Lullaby was much more innovative.
Nevertheless Daniel Day Lewis has always been one of my favorite actors, so it was good to see him make a record with 3 best actor awards.
Overall, it was an impressive array of movies (esp writing-wise). Like Tarantino put it 'This was the year for writers'

Good luck to everyone with the application decisions!

@JOAT @freaky I am so sorry to hear you received bad news :( I know how you feel as I have been where you're standing last year. Keeping my fingers crossed on your other applications! And shouldn't those work out either... fight on! You'll find out how much you truly believe in what you want to do and you'll be THAT much motivated. Being rejected IS HARD, feeling rejected is worse.

I made of logging onto https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmGradCertification/ every other day my latest hobby, some of the guys who applied to the Screenwriting MFA got in and learned that they were admitted earlier than expected :) can anyone log in?

OSCAR NIGHT: Stayed up all the way until 7AM (Italy time!) to watch the whole ceremony and live-blog about it..! It was fun and there were a few surprises! Can't wait to be on that red carpet one day ahahah ;-)

Got my rejection letter in the mail today. I had already begun to suspect I was rejected, so that lessened the blow somewhat. And this forum also helped a lot. Thanks!
I've already started to think of all the things I could improve on my application to reapply. So, chin up! Good luck to all of you!!!

Hey everyone.
I havent participated much as I have been traveling for the past 3 weeks and unable to come to the forum.

Have any international applicants heard back yet ?
The post has kept all my mail and I wont see anything before tomorrow.

I feel like biting my nails off.

Anyway, good luck to all those who have yet to hear back from USC.

Ps Does anyone know if they call or skype international applicants ?

@S6 accepted people will get a phone call tomorrow!

Some of the rejected students already received the news in the mail a few days ago, but being an international student you shouldn't expect to find mail from USC tomorrow..! Last year I got my rejection letter a month after the notification date, when I had already figured out that I hadn't made the cut :-P

As a general rule: f you're in, you should get a call on your mobile tomorrow!

Thanks for clearing that Coins. I had the same doubt as S6.
So if we don't get a phone call by 6:00 PM PST (3:00 AM GMT) we should gracefully accept defeat?
It being Friday and all I think waiting till 6PM is a stretch in itself.

Hope everyone else is holding up well to these last few tense hours !!

I'm starting to freak out! These 24+ hours can't go fast enough. It's even worse that they don't call you to tell you you've been rejected. Waiting all day tomorrow and not getting the call would be really tough! Good luck to everyone that's still waiting to hear. Personally, there is no way I'm sleeping tonight.

Hey guys I have no idea why but I got an early call.

Henry called, and I am in! I seriously cannot believe it guys, I can't, I can't.

Rooting for all of you now, fingers crossed.

That's awesome! Big congrats! Here's hoping for everyone else!

Henry called and I freaked out immediately, and when he said he had good news and that I was in I asked (quite a dum question): "weren't you supposed to call tomorrow?"

He laughed and said: "yes, but we thought that an early call would be a pleasant surprise"

I am not sure they are calling everyone today though! Keep your hopes up and keep us posted!!

And shouldn't you get in this time, I know how you feel, keep fighting for your dream! I am now living proof that re-applicants do stand a chance!

@Mike @Ubi keep fighting! Competition to get into the Peter Stark program is FIERCE and getting on the waitlist is a great result.

I know it's a huge disappointment but don't give up!

Hey Everyone, I got a call today as well! I'm in. There's one other Producing Program I am waiting to hear back from, but I couldn't be more delighted. It's an honor. Best of luck to you all!

Question to the forum: are there any other programs you're seriously considering in addition to Stark? If yes, if you got into both, which would you choose and why?
