Rejected--advice needed

I got an interview at UCLA but didn't get in. Offered a spot in the Prof. Program. Rejected by USC. Decision is STILL pending for Chapman.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. Do I really suck and need to give up this dream? The interview at UCLA gave me hope. Not sure which direction to take. Any guidance from those who were rejected in the past and got in later or just from anyone would be appreciated.

Wow, I thought this forum was all about supporting one another. But I guess for those of you who made it this year and didn't in the past, you don't believe in the "pass it on" philosophy. It seems there used to be a lot more help and support offered here. I guess once you make it you quit caring about being supportive of the others here.

The film industry really isn't about a school degree.
It's about talent and passion for filmmaking - if you REALLY want it - and keep working really hard - you will get there - honestly - it doesn't matter which school you go and get a degree from - even A LOT OF USC graduates don't make it to the industry - there are many ways/routes to learn your craft in filmmaking - do not give up just because you are rejected by a "school" - the admission decision is very subjective in my opinion - only "YOURSELF" can tell you what you are capable of - :)
Keep dreaming!

LoL Well don't get diapppointed but I am also a student as well - about to produce/direct my thesis film very soon.

I got rejected by NYU a few years ago - so I went to school that accepted me - but here, I've found amazing friend whom I can completely trust and we will be on our way to build our production company together - We do loads of intern work outside school as well - just to meet more professional people - and it's been only 2 years we've been doing this - and we have a lot of connections and they are willing to help with our first feature together this year -
This is only possible just because we kept our positive energy along with our passion for making great films :) It seemed impossble when we started - but still we kept doing what we were doing then we now starting to see something big and good happening :)
You just have to let your feet moving - but this is possibe only IF YOU REALLY WANT this to happen -
If you see some of the most established directors - they didn't even go to super expensive, fancy film schools - so I say keep moving forward :)

My handle - I understand that no one gets paid to post here. I was simply pointing out that everyone here was offering encouragement, advice, etc. before they got their decisions. Now that the decisions have come out it seems like the ones who got accepted have gone off with their own thread, which is fine, but they were more than willing to ask for and give support prior to their decision. It seems now the ones who got in are no longer offering encouragement. There are a couple who have but most who got in have not. I'm just saying that we should all remember from where we have come. If I ever get accepted, I won't forget those that are still trying. I think it's my duty to pay it forward and I guess I get a little annoyed when others don't feel the same way. My comments were not intended to be rude. Please excuse me if I am more than a little disappointed and discouraged and was just looking for some encouragement from those who have been where I am.

Great post emperor_gort.

Completely off topic but an FYI, in a message box like the reply one on this site, use 2 fingers to scroll through it lol. Just in case next time you need to write a long message on your iphone

Thanks for the words of wisdom and advice Emporer. And thanks for your patience. Some days are better than others ya know? Sometimes we just have a bad day and need to vent. I didn't take offense with your words at all. Thanks for being concerned enough to offer me up some insight and advice.
