Hi everyone,
I'm new here, and let me introduce myself first.
I'm currently a junior in a liberal arts college, majoring in Film and Media. I'm interested in story-telling, directing and editing. I'm thinking of applying for MFA program this year (before12/1, the deadline for most of schools).
There are two reasons that I want to go to graduate school immediately after undergraduate school.
First, my school is a liberal arts college that doesn't have a really strong or professional film department like NYU. I feel like that things I've learned in undergraduate are very limited; I took many theory classes.
Second, I really want to do film, be a story teller, but I'm a international student in U.S. and have no connection in industry at all. I actually don't know how to get into the film industry after I get my bachelor degree.
I've started searching for graduate schools now, and found this website, which is really helpful. I checked some USC, NYU accepted films. They are very professional, compared with my projects in college.
And now I'm afraid that my short film may be not professional or great enough for the application. This is my main concern actually.
Any advice would be great!
