Hey all! Since I see a few of us applied to Stony Brook for the different tracks, I figured I would make a thread for all of us to discuss the school. I know some were already admitted, while others (like myself) are still waiting to hear. Good luck!

Hi! Thanks for creating this thread. I applied to the Producing discipline on Jan 15th and still waiting to hear back from them. Good luck to all of us that are still waiting! 🤞

Yay! I applied to TV writing and just had my interview a few days ago. I submitted back in December and heard back on Jan 18. They told me they were planning on sending decisions for my program sometime within the next month.
Agh the wait feels long! Best of luck to you. Is Stony Brook your/one of your top choices? 🙂

Good luck to you too!! At least after the interview it’s out of your hands, but I’m learning how impatient I am through this whole process haha. Stony Brook is definitely up there for me! I’ve had great chats with the staff so far and they seem very down to Earth.

Just got an interview request! Those of you who have interviewed with them already, could you share some of the questions they asked you? Thanks! :)

Congrats!! I was accepted for TV Writing last week! Obviously my interview was probably much different from producing, but they asked me pretty specific questions about my materials. It was clear that they really looked at what I turned in. They also asked what inspired my writing and what my typical day looks like. Again, might not be the same for you but in general they seem very genuine and down to Earth and that came through during the interview, too. Good luck!

Great, thanks for your quick answer! :)

Just got an e-mail that I've been accepted! Those of you who've been accepted, are you planning on attending or are you waiting to hear back from other unis first?
