Hi everyone, I just finished my interview for screenwriting. They said, at least for screenwriting, they'd be wrapping up interviews this week (or next week, I don't remember), and that shortly after they'd be sending out offer letters.

Congratulations on your interview! Did they happen to reference any specifics about your application samples? I saw that you mentioned playwriting, but beyond that? How many people were on the call if you recall?

It was only two people, Paul G and James Dutcher. Surprisingly they didn't reference any part of my application samples directly. I'm sure they had them in mind about how I translate my writing voice to the screen from being a playwright, as AFI asked me a similar question. It seemed more like they want to get to know your character, who you are, how you communicate

My friend was interviewed this week and he asked them about it. They confirmed the change and expressed that it was so that all of their tracks could align more with everyone progressing at the same time. Promoting more collaboration and such.

I just had my interview today.

I interviewed with two different guys. One of them was the director of the dodge program. He seemed kind of serious and like he wasn't too impressed with me. When it was time to go, he didn't say goodbye, almost as if he was thinking "Yeah I don't want to see this guy again".

For the record, I am a terrible interviewer. Some people have a way with words, I am not one of these people. A part of that is my autism, a part of that is I naturally stumble with my words. I'm much better at writing than I am at speaking.

So yeah, I'm probably going to get rejected. I just have this feeling.

Depends what you applied for! Not all programs hold interviews

At this point, i feel if you’ve gotten an interview that’s a great sign! It seems like from what @bddub24 has said, they want to get to know you on a personal level during the interviews. I’m thinking they know you have the skills to succeed in their program, so don’t be too harsh on yourselves

I applied for the directing program and had selected the editing program as my backup program.

I hope I get in but if not, I have plans to go to The Philippines to meet some women. It’s been my dream to get a girlfriend.
