UT Austin MFA Film 2026 (2 Viewers)

Anyone receive any update ? Get some views from Vimeo analysis page. But not sure if it’s from Austin
I added "Film" to the thread title as I'm assuming this is for the film MFA and not screenwriting due to the Vimeo question.

Film/Media Production has only 72 logged applications in our database so far (37.5% admitted overall, aggregated across years), and Screenwriting is at just 63 (22.2% admitted). That means the stats are still pretty rough: small samples = less reliable insights for the 2026 cycle.

Log your application soon (even if no update yet, or later for waitlist/deny) so we can pull back the curtain on what UT Austin actually values: prior film experience of admits, interview success rates, demographics, and more. (Programs rarely share this stuff publicly!)

Logging takes ~30 seconds, fully anonymous, and helps YOU most: get clearer real-time trends for this exact cycle, benchmark your profile against peers, and avoid skewed data from only logging accepts.

Be sure to log no matter the outcome... rejections/waitlists balance the picture and make acceptance rates more accurate.

Here are the current stats, dates, and demographics of accepted applicants from logged applications for MFA Film:

Good luck... fingers crossed for good news soon!

Is there one for screenwriting?

Did you interview on the 4th or get your interview notification on the 4th? I got my interview notification on the 4th but the only two days they told me they'd be interviewing were the 6th and 7th
My notification was on the 2nd and the 4th, 6th and 7th were my open time slots. I haven't heard of any other decisions being sent out so best of luck to you all!

Congrats @tomutube !
I had my interview on Feb 7th with a panel of four, but I haven't heard anything back yet. The wait is definitely nerve-wracking. Is it possible they send out notifications in waves based on interview dates or international student status?
Same, mine was also the 7th with 4. How did you think yours went? I thought mine went pretty well so I’m kinda surprised I haven’t heard anything
