2006 eaaarly decision tisch

yaaa i know.. soo soon..
i got this packet from nyu in the mail today like.. what to expect at nyu and all the great things about nyu.. i dont get it dont they understand i know how great it is allready i applied early decision.. annoying..

haha i got that packet too.
it came in a big white envelope and my mom saw it and got excited because she thought it was an acceptance letter. this is just unfair. i don't think i can wait much longer before i spontaniously combust. this waiting can't be good for my health. lol.

wouldn't it be nice if mid-december meant closer to the 10th or 13th instead of the 17th or 20th? technically every date that isn't december 1st or december 31st is considered mid-december. i hate the ambiguous answers these NYU people give... =/

Their website says that on the week of December 11th people should start hearing. This means that they send the letters on saturday. However, since the post office is closed Sunday they dont get sent out 'till Monday. So kids in New York MIGHT hear on December 11th...but most likely everyone will hear around the middle of that week / beginning of the next.

Im crapping my pants. Im anxious, but extremely worried. I dont like this feeling. YIKES!

I hope everyone is keeping up well. I cant seem to think of much else really, haha.

Its horrible because I've been home sick from school for the past 3 days and I haven't been able to do a whole lot to take my mind off of it, so its all I've been thinking about.

neenstar.. i looked at ur stats on another post.. unless ur porfolio sucked completely.. theres no way ur not getting in considering nyu is more grades-based (which sucks for ppl like me)

aww thanks! i just hope that i have what they are looking for portfolio-wise as well. =)

and don't worry so much about grades because hopefully as long as you meet their minimum requirements tisch will review your portfolio and make their judgement based on that. =)

yaaa i hope.. i mean my grades are good and my sat is like.. borderline.. but my film was siiiick.. but i guess i made a mistake by sending my regular nyu admissions essay for the tisch essay.. i probably should have written a different one but it fit in so perfectly so i just used it for that too.. o well hope they dont care.. well see..

haha niice.. it sucks cause my birthday is the 18th and well probably find out like.. the 16th so its gunna be a siiiiick birthday or a terrible one

Ok guys, I got this information from the NYU website, it's pretty interesting
since i'm an international i hope i get my decision e-mailed, c'mon, the strees is awful!....

The majority of admissions decisions for Early Decision applicants will be mailed during the week of December 11th. Most everyone should receive their decision by the end of that week.

Early decision applicants should expect to begin receiving notification letters on December 15th. It is important to note that not all early decision applicants will be notified on this date. Notification for early decision students usually lasts until the 1st of January, though the majority of decisions are mailed prior to the University closing for winter-break on December 23rd.

Our office makes special arrangements to notify international applicants of our admissions decision. This includes, for the first time this year, notification via e-mail. ONLY APPLICANTS LIVING OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. SHOULD ANTICIPATE BEING NOTIFIED IN THIS WAY.

Notification of admissions decision are done by U.S. Postal Service only. Decisions are not released over the internet, telephone, or through an e-mail.

When is regular decision tisch due? I know that NYU's application is due January 15 but I heard somewhere for film school it's December 15th?

No that's for FSU. NYU is still Jan. 15. FSU wants all their materials by December 15th even though the regular application isn't due until february. Same with USC because they want all materials by December 10th even though the regular deadline is Janurary.
