2016 Interviews- Acceptances- Rejections

Oh I did it! We now have an option to list ourselves as attending in the spreadsheet. The color it shows up as is blue, to differentiate from those who were admitted.
Excellent!

Really getting worried about BU and NYU now. I JUST checked my NYU Albert page, and it shows an incomplete application requirement: TOEFL Scores. Damn. I had sent in all the reports by 25th November last year, and somehow they haven't received them.

Meanwhile, my TOEFL scores and the rest of the application materials are in order for the BU app and everything shows in 'green ticks' on their Application Status page. YET, I haven't received any form of communication from their end. I'm sure they're all busy, but info on their site says that all international applicants receive an email with a link to the 'International Supplement', which I'm confused about, cause I got no such email. Weird.

I hope none of these discrepancies are delaying in the notification process, and it's all just a minor hurdle that's worrying me. Has everyone been checking their application status everyday?

Have written both the admissions office a mail each, now it's time to wait more, I guess!

I feel like I screwed it up. :(

Concerning NYU Albert, my IELTS score is also unchecked, so I feel you shouldn't worry about that. I'm pretty sure they got it. Anyway, in case you're accepted, it's not going to be a problem for you to send them your score.

@tutenkhamen Hey, I had the same issues. NYU apologised saying they hadn't updated the page and they have indeed received my scores. So don't worry about that. They would have received yours too.
And BU, the apparently waive it off cause we submit an interview video. I have no idea why but that is what they told me.
Hope that helps :)

NYU problem is apparently no problem at all ! Contact Peter Gerena via email, he will check your status. I had the same problem too!
also please upload your video and send the link to comgrad because they did not send me a link for international video either.
Tell them that you have been waiting and nothing came. My video has not been viewed form the time that I have uploaded it but I checked it with them and they say that they have received it. (I am trying to say that it does not make any difference that you did not upload it till now LOL)

Thanks @Sibi Naayagam, @jedi578k, @Lifeisnoholiday! I guess it's normal to behave like this, now that final notification dates are right around the corner! ._.

Relieved to hear. *sigh*

And I guess I won't be submitting the international supplement cause I'm pretty confident about the Interview Video I've already sent. Let's hope for the best.

Doing my UCLA interview today guys! Wish me luck!! And congrats to everyone on their recent acceptances :D
Good luck filmophile! Hope it goes well! -fingers crossed-

I have not heard anything back from Columbia University. Called up admissions and the guy hinted that if I haven't heard anything by now for the interview than it is probably a reject.

Wow, so that means they definitely interview everyone they're interested in? Good info for future applicants!

I am sorry for you. Hopefully it wasn't your top choice? *supportive hug*

I'm still waiting to hear back from USC since they already contacted four fellow forum candidates for my program, so I'm getting more and more worried as days pass...

I think I've gone through the entire process of grieving at this point when it comes to my applications for the year. haha. I've humbly come to the conclusion that I didn't put my full effort into it. I could have done better, worked harder, researched more, and so on. At this point, I'm waiting a little impatiently for my rejections so I can put more effort into applications for next year.

The one exception is Northwestern. It was the last application I finished and I put substantially more into it than I did into my others. I'm hoping there are enough applicants who turn down their acceptance to do a second round of interviews and maybe I'll get lucky.

But all in all, I believe it was @Patrick Clement who wisely said, programs are looking for a good fit. If you don't fit into their program well, why would you want to go?

I don't know about the rest of you but I sure have learned a lot this application season! Cheers to everyone who's gotten good news, hugs to those who are still left in the dark or feeling down.

Thank you writer girl for the support. I sincerely hope that we get in. Columbia wasn't my top choice but certainly wouldn't have been bad for my confidence if I had gotten in.
I wish you well with your USC application. Which program did you apply for ?

I feel you. I could've done better for my video submission for USC. I didn't prepare properly and couldn't finish editing in time, so I had to submit something that was about a year old that just wasn't as good as I would've liked. I also re-read my personal statement and it just doesn't flow as well as I thought it did when I submitted it. I'm feeling pretty down at this point, but I know what I need to do for next year! I know USC is still notifying people, though. I could be very pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it.

did you get the call today ?
yes...and then an email. I turned my application in 5 minutes before it was due and then it took a whole 'nother month for my references to send in their part. Are you waiting to hear back? I posted a couple of days ago an email that an advisor sent me in regards to when rejection notices would come out. She said they are still reviewing applications and will conduct interviews up until the very last possible moment. Notifications will be on April 4th for directors and writers.

Just got waitlisted at USC for the fall with a guaranteed acceptance in the Spring if no one drops out (good enough for me). This site was a great resource, thanks to everyone!
