2017 - MFA Applicants

First off, congrats on the interview. If you don't mind...I am very curious to know what type of questions did they ask you during your interview and how long was your interview?
Hey! Thanks. The interview was very relaxed. She asked me to tell her about myself and then we just had a discussion. Since my background is in comedy we talked a lot about the pitfalls of a sketch mentality when transferring to film and what kind of comedy I want to create. I got the feeling there weren't really set questions. My interview actually went pretty long - a little over an hour but it was a great discussion. Break legs!

Hi there,

I emailed Susan Carnival at NYU politely asking for an ETA for graduate film interview notifications. I received an automated response that the school was closed today due to the snow storm. I just thought you guys should know as this may delay the emails we've all been waiting for.

Haha! I'm sure you will be more than fine. How did it go? Feeling okay?
Sending positive vibes your way @IndecisiveElle :)
Thanks! I think it went ok, but I had a bit of brain fog from traveling and I could have expressed myself better if I hadn't been scheduled for two hours after my flight landed. Regardless, it was really enjoyable to talk to her and I loved seeing the passion she has for the program, UCLA, students, and writing. I had been reconsidering why Texas was my top choice and the interview sealed it; UCLA is once and again my dream school! Fingers crossed!

Brilliant! Everything crossed for you!

Thanks dude this makes me feel more at ease. My interview is tomorrow and I've been prepping myself. Hopefully my interview go as well as yours did. Thanks for the positive vibes.

HEADS UP! Susan Carnival just replied to my email: interview notifications for NYU grad film applicants are expected to go out over the next two weeks.

2 weeks? I really thought that after this weekend I'd be able to stop thinking about the application. 2 weeks is such a long time...

@Mer you may still get news as early as next week. She said the emails will go out over the next two weeks, not in two weeks. So who knows!

Do you guys think USC Film production are still conducting interviews, or do you think the three that have already happened are it?

i didn't any interview notifications too... but I saw in the google tracking sheet there were already some people getting the interview in the end of January..

Hi guys! So I'm totally new in this forum but I applied for the MFA Television and Film production at USC :) this waiting game gives me so much anxiety! Lol Anyways, my cousin received an email today for an interview (USC MFA Television & Film) so I'm assuming they are still conducting interviews. Is it a bad sign if you don't get called for an interview specifically for this program?

Thanks for the heads up. I was beginning to get antsy.

Okay that's very odd. The 2017 Google track sheet shows there's one NYU grad film applicant who received an interview invite on Feb. 8. Which kinda contradicts what Susan said.

Anyone else super confused?

Hi guys!
Today I received an interview notification from NYU!!! Good luck to you all !!!!
