emerson equipement

Hello people,
I have been reading and watching videos about Emerson film school and I noticed that I only saw and heard about old cameras and equipment, even the film material was older than usual. For example they showed how to change a rolex film as if it were a commonly used camera.
Could anyone who attends this school tell me if I'm right or wrong? How is the equipment at Emerson and is there even some video stuff?
