I assume the letter was posted to the MyStatus page on Friday. I'm applying to their screen writing program, and I was told by admissions on thursday that their running behind this year and to expect admissions notifications to come mid February to March. I know that’s for screenwriting, but I wouldn't give up hope yet!

Yes. don't lose hope yet because it seems like they have just started sending emails. Also, he received his email late Friday so they'll be continuing to send acceptance emails through next week. Also, it seems like UT RTF dept is doing things a little differently. I don't know if they are interviewing only International applicants or just interviewing those they will eventually accept or maybe they're only interviewing accepted International applicants. It could be any of that.

Hello! I received the acceptance letter from UT last night. I was sent an email at the end of last week saying the Admissions Committee was going to recommend my application to the University Staff, but I guess I was waiting until I received the formal notification to "feel" admitted.

I am really excited about this!!! Would love to connect with other people who are also going to study this year at UT!

I couldn't check the forum these last days (crazy days, really), but if it's still worth anything, I can say something about my interview, since @heythisisatlas asked about it.

First of all, I applied to the Film and Media Production MFA.

The interview was really short. I think what they expected was to have a quick and concise conversation, with very pointed answers. The first question was about my reasons for applying to the program and the specific aspects that I was interested in (which I believe is like an obligated question in every interview of this kind, so nothing new here). According to what I answered, they asked about things I mentioned and the conversation went from there. In the end, I was asked about some of the concepts we talked about, sort of relating them to the short film I presented in my portfolio. And that was all.

Looking back on it, honestly, I don't know how much weight (if any) the interview carries in the application process. I don't feel like my answers gave a very broad perspective of me, and well, the short time frame doesn't allow for that either, I guess. My final feeling was that it was a conversation simply to "put a face" on the applicant. Anyways, that was my case, would like to read other people's thoughts about it!
