Anyone else’s application “at the selection panel” seems like things might be moving quite fast this year?

It kinda bums me out that this is the only top tier MA in the UK—no other school comes close, am I right? The US has several good places. In the UK it's NFTS, then maybe the LFS but it's mega expensive, and then all the places who don't have mega successful grad credits to advertise on their websites.

While there are more American schools, I'm from the US and think the UK's film industry has a brighter future. I moved to LA after going to an English university because a past internship I had at a post-production studio offered me a job. Immediately after moving, they closed indefinitely as many studios here have.

Finding work in Hollywood is difficult. I'm applying to NFTS (Sound Design MFA) in part because I want to come back to the UK and live there afterward.

Mine has (but I’m screenwriting MFA) - does seem quick given usually find out about interviews late June/early July! Hoping we find out sooner rather than later so can move on either way!

Whenever you posted this, I had received mine two week prior or so. They do seems to be going fast, but then again I don't think we'll hear until late June as always

Yes I got a full view yesterday as well! Though my film is submitted to a few festivals so may not be NFTS, who knows

Is it an acceptable thing for us to share our short films with each other, now that all the entries are in, or is that a bit weird? Thought it might pass the time a bit while we wait to hear...

Ahh we did that a couple of years ago! It’s fun but probably best to to do in private without sharing links on the main page as a lot of people view this site who aren’t members. Happy to share in private though

Some people attach or post them to their logged applications. (only supporting members can see them in that case - not the general web)

Question for UK Students applying - do you know if we have to apply for student finance before we even know if we have a place on the course? It’s also confusing with the January start date. As I remember from the selection panel email they said to research course funding?

Also update on Vimeo views: got my second set of views on my additional application films, guess crunch time is coming soon!

Hi all,
I applied for the Editing course, and just wanted to share some information as I believe I wasn’t selected for an interview. My video was viewed twice at the end of May, but since the email mentioned that we would hear back by the end of last week or early this week, and I haven’t received any updates, I assume I was not shortlisted. That said, I really appreciated how NFTS kept us informed throughout the process—especially for Editing applicants, where we were clearly told when decisions would be made and when to expect updates. It was very helpful.

I’ll most likely be heading to a school in Canada. Perhaps our paths will cross someday. Good luck!

I got the same, defo NFTS as one of the views was from Beaconsfield

Nope other than some new Vimeo views. From looking at the other boards, the other courses have started having interviews.
