2016 Interviews- Acceptances- Rejections (3 Viewers)

I got a rejection letter (in an email) from NYU about the Filmmaking program at 9:14PM today. I hope that info helps anybody interested in knowing the rejections are still pouring out.

Rejected from USC too, still waiting on Chapman but i guess it's Emerson for me. They just started a new MFA in screenwriting and maybe because of this it's a little easier to get into than the top 5 schools, but it's also more intimate with only 12 ppl accepted into the program.

I'm curious as to how many of the USC accepted peeps are first-time applicants and how many were re-applying? Mind chiming in, lucky ones? :D

I just got a rejection letter from LMU, like in the actual mail, which is extra depressing in ways the others weren't, lol. So it's official...I'm a grad school reject!! Oh well, I can think of other uses for thousands of dollars I don't have, haha.

Thanks for posting, although I'm sorry about the news! I've been watching my mail like a hawk, but haven't gotten any school-related mail yet. That could be because I'm up in Oregon and further away from LMU.

Maybe we'll get ours on Monday haha.

Did someone delete our spreadsheet!?! Or can I just not see it, except for a person named "jazz" for some reason???

NEVERMIND ... IGNORE ME. Someone turned a filter on and hid everyone except "jazz" ... Smh, guys remember, it's a shared spreadsheet. Any changes you make, including filtering or sorting, apply to everyone, not just you.

Wow. Whoever trolled and deleted the whole thing. Pretty lame. I've restored it.

ETA: This is an incredibly supportive and warm community. I have no doubt that no on who is amongst us, participating in the forums has done such a thing intentionally. I ask that if you are not familiar with Google Docs, to please not edit it. Ask for help if you need to. We're all here to help!

And if it was a troll as I suspect, I'm sorry you live such a lonely life.

The short I sent has a logo animation at the beginning and continues with a opening title sequence helicopter shot - so basically they watched 0seconds of the actual film.
One of my film professors said the most annoying thing for him was logos and production credits at the start of a student film. Something to think about...

super weird, i'm "jazz" but i have no idea how that filter function came into play. last time i was here i sorted the schools list from a-z because it was scrambled up again. past that, don't know how my name got involved. apologies for the hiccup, whatever it was. ive found the spreadsheet extremely helpful for the last few months, so rest assured, i am not spending my lonely life trolling this forum.

I can echo this when I read through resumes also.

Just wanted to be sure you know that I wasn't implying you did it anything :)

I'm pretty sure what I'm referring to happened after the filter Amanda saw in place also.

@Chris Wright I guess that might be the case. But at the same time extremely odd to get anoyed about that and just skip. To add to all this - it wasn't a student film so logos and credits were kind of obligatory. I guess I could have cut them away for the sake of the application video but it honestly never crossed my mind.

And my case aside - if some people's portfolio videos haven't even been opened... well it hardly seems like a fair assesment of the application as a whole, does it?

Hey, no worries! I wasn't trying to call you out with any sort of animosity ... Your name was all the was appearing, so I mentioned it specifically to see if anyone was having the same issue. I'm sure that whatever happened, and whoever did it, did it accidentally and without realizing what had happened. It's all good now, and up and running as usual!
