FSU

I took a tour of there facility today, WOW!
There's so much to say, sound stages, awesome editing equipment, not to mention kick arse 35mm cameras. Plus the people there are very helpful and will answer any questions you have.

Too bad you won't get to play with it at all for the first two years, from what I understand. Also, equipment is essentially meaningless. I have been very unimpressed by the student work I've seen from FSU.

the first two years are designed to get your core accedemic classes out of the way so you can focus on your film degree the remaining years. Where did you see the student's work? The films i've seen have been awesome.

maybe this is just a gainesville-jacksonville thing? Gators and Noles... no love lost there. Then again, I know nothing about Jacksonville's college affiliations, really. Go Jags!

Yeah, but I'm not a big believer in education being divided into chores that need to be moved 'out of the way' ;)

If you're getting a film degree you should be involved in film (and everything else) from the very beginning. It should all be rigorous anyway...

It's been a couple years since I saw student work. I think it was on DVDs that the students themselves screened at some event (not at FSU).

Trust me, I have no specific attachment to the Gators. I don't follow college sports ;)

However, FSU does have a fairly mediocre reputation as an actual school. UF isn't exactly Princeton but at least it was specifically intended as the flagship of the Florida system.
