Hello!

Anyone in here going into Film Studies?? Seems a production heavy site. Not that I am not all for that, just wanted to see if there were other Film Studies folks in here too...

where are you going/or hoping to go?

Ive been accepted to BUs MFA program, which I am still a little confused of an MFA vs MA in Film Studies. Anyone know anything about the program?

Also got into Columbia and still waiting to hear from Austin.

Anyone else taking the theory/criticism route??

cheers!

I am going into film studies!

I was accepted to NYU and Ohio University and am waitlisted at Columbia.

Columbia is my dream school, NYU hasn't offered me funding and I received full funding to Ohio.
I am not really sure what I am going to do, as I don't really know anything about Ohio, but am very poor and cannot fund NYC on my own!

My ultimate goal is theory/criticism, but I am also very interested in film preservation!

NYU and OU- Thats great! Midwest is definitely more affordable, but NYU is a dream school too!

I hear you on the $$ I have no idea how I am going to afford Columbia! But I figure it is worth managing somehow! Loans loans loans, debt debt debt... :P

My goal is theory/criticism too... I find preservation fascinating, but I've never been in a situation to really learn or get hands on experience with it. That is so cool. And as far as $$ Kodak and so many others have big scholarships for people going into preservation!
