I don't know if this is just a myth, but my friend said the earlier you apply to the course, the better. I don't want to be at a disadvantage by applying right before the deadline, but I also don't wanna rush it! Have you all heard anything about this?

Anybody know what's up with the treatment requirements? Writing a treatment on just two pages, double spaced, is impossible. The "Requirements" section on the website says you should cover Basic Situation, Characters, and Main Thrust, but the Application includes "Characters and Other Elements".

It says "no more than 2 sides of A4 paper". That means two pages, right? I'm not going crazy?

I wrote them a mail regarding this. They wrote me back saying that there is no such thing. There’s also a chance if there’s such thing and they won’t admit it directly.

Ah well done for writing them. From what I've gleaned from these past threads, they take such a long time to go through the applications, so I wouldn't imagine they just ignore the later submissions

I am planning to submit a film made with an old handycam, very amateur in nature but I don't want to get immediately rejected for not meeting some requirement I don't know about. Are they really looking for potential or does technical quality matter in any way? Would appreciate your help in answering Chris W

From what I've heard, but I could be wrong, they don't look too much at technical polish and are more interested in the storytelling you've managed to convey as a director. Don't be put off! Apply with all you've got and good luck

I'm pretty sure their official website explicitly says, "The technical quality of the work submitted is not a priority in assessment." So, don't worry about it, just go ahead and apply with confidence!

Hello Emily! I just wanted to ask whether the NFTS allows students (particularly on the Directing Fiction MA) to borrow equipment to work on personal projects during less busy periods where the kit isn’t in high-demand?
