Did anyone get waitlisted, but not receive an email? I only found out after checking my status on the portal.

Is there any one here doesn’t plan on accepting their spot on the waitlist or was accepted to other programs they perfer? Asking for obvious reasons but also if no one wants to answer that I completely understand.

I will most likely be attending columbia screenwriting/directing since I was accepted there.

Understandable. I want to get it but even if I do the financial piece is stressing me out- I have no idea what kind of aid they are gonna offer with everything going on right now

They said the waitlist “isn’t long” and yet this thread is full of waitlisted people … very interesting

In my head I’m assuming by not a lot they mean like 20-30 which for like a big university I guess would be considered short? Idk

I applied to my dream school on a whim thinking I wouldn’t even get an interview but I’m happy I made it this far.
How often do people on the waitlist make it in the cohort? I’m looking online and can’t really find anything so I’m wondering if anyone knows from experience. Thanks!

I never got an email so I’m assuming it’s a glitch. Only found out by checking the portal as well once people started posting results

I think- and mind you I know nothing- the biggest factor here of people not accepting their admission offer or even their place on the waitlist- is gonna be the financial aspect here (FAFSA) and what kind of awards NYU is able to dole out right now with everything going on.

What do u mean by 'everygoing going on'? Sorry I am out of the loop it seems (int applicant)

I just mean with everything happening with colleges and the US government right now and all the federal cuts happening. I have no idea how that will impact anything but I’m assuming it has to in some way
