Peter Stark Producing Program 2012/2013

@pew pew! Wow. Thank you so much for sharing that information about your interview. It sounds like you handled it well!

Makes me nervous since I didn't interview this year, they were already booked by the time I called...

Best of luck my friend. I hope we are both classmates in August.

@pew pew, glad to hear your interview went well!

@i_spit_hot_fire You'll do great tomorrow!

Best of luck to both of you, and to all of us! I hope we'll all be classmates soon.

@srao

Thanks. Normally I'm not nervous about interviews, but damn if Stark hasn't managed to catch me off guard. I appreciate the good wishes.

And I heard from UCLA (screenwriting) this week. I'm interviewing on Campus on Friday.

Safe to say this is a big week.

@pew pew
Thanks for sharing and I really hope you'll get in!

@i_spit_hot_fire
Good luck with your interview today! You'll do great! Keep us posted!

Sorry guys for the absence, I don't have an Internet connection in my new house in Milan but I always read your posts from my iPhone ahahah... It's so surreal that we'll know everything next week. I want to keep positive for all of us!

What will you be doing next Wednesday? Do you know if they'll be calling on the house phone or on your cellphone?

Fingers crossed everyone!!

So is it a bad thing that some of us haven't been contacted for a last minute interview? In other words, has anyone got into the program with one or no interviews?

Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone.

Had my interview this morning. Very basic, very lighthearted chat with Larry, Richard, and Henry. Richard congratulated me on making it this far, and said no decisions had been made. Then Larry interjected and said that a ton of decisions had been made--they'd cut most of the applications down to their top choices, and now they had to cut a few more.

The rest of the interview was tailored pretty exclusively to me and my background as a writer, but it did boil down to why I chose Stark and where I'd ideally be in the future. They seemed pleased that I had a definite direction in mind, but who knows.

At the end, they asked me if I had any questions and that was it. They said I had to sweat it out a few more days, and that they'll have the decisions next week as expected.

In all, very casual, polite, and humorous exchange. It felt like they were looking for some minor clarifications on questions that arose on the app, and also like they're going through their list to make sure we aren't total duds.

Again, this was just my impression. Now, it's back to waiting for a week.

Since everyone is sharing their interview questions here are a few I remember:
Why do you want be a producer(duh)?
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
They asked me to pitch an idea
What are your favorite films?
What would you do if you were rejected?
Why go to film school if so many people have success without a degree?
Film or television producing and why?
What other schools did you apply to?
Do you have any questions for us?

They never asked why I chose USC and I remember telling my sister that and her reply was, "because they know why." I thought that was funny.

It was in August. It was about 45 minutes. All those questions kind of went with the flow of the conversation we were having, none of them made me think, "where did that question come from?"

For example, when they asked me to pitch an idea it came from the fact that I just finished writing a pilot. So they wanted to know if I had any more ideas for a movie or TV pilot. Then they asked if I wanted to go into TV or film because I had just written a pilot instead of a short or feature length script.

The questions I posted are the general ones I remember. There were some more questions I remember but it would serve no purpose to post them because they were specifically about me.

@I_Spit_On_Hot_Fire What time in the AM did they call and was it an"UNKNOWN" number? I had 2 missed calls the other morning from an unknown number at 8:30/9:00 am PST. Just curious.

Any updates; have some of you been called with good news yet? Do we know approximately how many people applied this year? ... Best to all!

Not to be a bear, but does anybody know when rejection letters go out? After 2/22? Kind of nerve racking to be waiting around all day for a call that never comes. Sounds like a depressing country song
