Screenwriting MFA vs Directing MFA
I have been wrestling with choice of major for sometime now.
I have been a renaissance man of sorts in the live theatre realm. I write, direct, act and produce.
I had previously planned on applying to the stage and screenwriting MFA at Northwestern.
However after an encouraging talk with my wife we both realized we eventually want to be in cali.
(Some time ago i had seen info about Chapman (which ive pretty much decided would be my #1)and was thrilled about their diversity of masters degrees, including producing mba/mfa jd/mfa...)
the dilemma
I aspire to own my own production company but while writing and directing mainly.
I have little to no experience with film direction but writing is the great passion of passions, yet i love both.
Not sure which would be better to start a career with
Directing MFA or Screenwriting MFA
(side note: any thoughts on the producing mba/mfa. mba has always been a major interest)
