Hi has anyone heard regarding interviews yet for dramatic writing?

They just asked me to resubmit a digital copy of my writing sample so atleast I am not out of the running from my guesses, although still no news yet.

I haven't heard a peep. How did they contact you to resubmit that sample?

I just got an email from Tisch with a link to my admissions decision on the apply yourself system. As soon as I saw the email I knew it was bad news, but I logged in anyway to see what they had to say. I got what seemed to be a form rejection letter saying that they could not offer me admission this year.

Ah well. I guess there's always 2012.

Sorry to hear that ShieldYourEyes. Have you applied elsewhere? Coz if you have don't give up hope yet.

For the rest of us who haven't heard from NYU about interviews, I'm thinking this isn't the best sign. Still hoping for the best.

Sorry to the both of you who got turned down this year. Although it may sound like a hollow platitude, there is always next year. I got rejected last year and yet here I am trying once again!

Thanks everybody. I also applied to Columbia, so I'm still holding out hope on that front. It's hard not to feel discouraged about that after the Tisch rejection, even if the decisions are completely independent of each other.

My notification was sent at 5:01 this afternoon. Good luck to the rest of you. Maybe this means there's good news for those who didn't receive the notification.

Hmm. So there seems to have been one mass email sent around 5 PM. But so far it looks like it was only sent to people who applied for directing/producing... unless brightlight was a writer...

Maybe us dramatic writing people are next on the chopping block? I'm dreading 5 PM tomorrow... and the day after... and the day after.

Dont worry about it. Yes I think they are taking the applications in batches. There should be a round of interview calls before the next set of rejections. Try not to worry too much about it Koquard.

I'm in for MFA directing and not a beep/email from them yet, rejecting or interview inviting (I'd love just anything at this stage...)

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking for a while now...I applied for the MFA w/a concentration on Producing. Just had my interview today with Tintori, Casale, and Ruff”¦ and it went well....I think... ()”¦I'm trying not to think about it too much.

They didn't ask me any of the questions I “prepared” for. They basically asked me why I wanted to make (produce) movies, what kind did I want to make”¦all the other questions came from answers that I gave them in response to those questions.

I wasn't nervous going in so I think that helped”¦I think some of my responses were a little random”¦again I'm trying not to think about it too much”¦

Advice? I'm no expert of course, but I would just say: BE YOURSELF. Sounds simple enough right? Don't tell them what you think they want to hear”¦Just tell the truth which should be good enough. Also, treat it like a conversation rather than an “interview”, and it'll be fine.

And now”¦I wait”¦(”˜o _O)

AHHH i applied to NYU Directing. it's my top most want to go school... if I haven't heard from them yet via email do you think it means I didn't get the interview?

For those wondering I was also applying for directing, not writing. Timestamp was the same as ShieldYourEyes... gotta love the mass generic rejection after all that work putting together that package of materials.

Does anyone have past experiencing trying to find out from admin how to improve applications for future reference (just in case)?

Rejected. Received a mail stating that my pending decision is now available & in order to view it I need to login to my account. There it was all to be seen!
