UT Austin Screenwriting 2025

I am more of a lurker than a poster as my daughter is not on any social media but she likes me to give her the highlights. It was her second time applying to Texas. She interviewed yesterday and was accepted today. She was rejected from Michener. She was thrilled with the news and I believe she has to accept by mid April. I hope others get good news today.
Congrats to your daughter! I just saw that you mentioned she received an acceptance.

Me too. Seems like they sent waitlist emails at the same time. But congrats to others who got in as well !!
Did you apply to other schools?
Yep! I also applied to Michener (denied), Columbia for screenwriting/directing, and NYU for dramatic writing. Had an interview for Columbia but haven’t heard anything from NYU yet. What about you?

I applied to many schools since this is my first time applying, and I'm not sure about their standards. I submitted applications to AFI, NYU, Northwestern, Columbia, USC, Chapman, LMU, and others. It seems that NYU has not started sending out interview invitations yet. I'm currently preparing for interviews at Columbia and Northwestern. What is your interview date for Columbia? Mine is in March.

It’s also my first time applying! I decided to apply last minute though which is why I only went with four schools. I had my Columbia interview a couple weeks ago and thought it went well; posted a bit about it in the Columbia thread
