I'm excited to announce our admissions department interview with Loyola Marymount University is taking place this September!

In 2022, THR ranked LMU no. 8 in its annual list of the top film schools in America, and U.S. News & World Report ranked LMU no. 14 in the nation for best undergraduate teaching. Learn more about LMU in our How to Apply guide:

Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television (LMU SFTV) remains one of the top West Coast film schools. In 2025, The Hollywood Reporter ranked LMU SFTV the no. 5 best U.S. film school for the third consecutive year, noting its emphasize on teamwork, inclusion of filmmakers with all...

I'm open to questions from undergraduate and graduate students about the application process, campus culture and student life (clubs, etc.), tips for getting accepted, fine-tuning the portfolio, financial aid and scholarships, and more.

Please submit your questions by Monday, August 28th at 11:59 p.m. ET. Thank you!

Here are some questions we should probably ask...
  • What's the single most important thing in the application?
  • Any application mistakes or things not to do that they've seen? What are red flags in an application?
  • How important are the interviews? Advice?
  • How much scholarship do they offer? How many recruitment receive them?
  • How important is GPA?
I'll probably think of more.
