UCLA Screenwriting MFA 2025

Just got rejected.
But given the stuff I submitted, I was actually pretty surprised that I got an interview in the first place.
Good luck to those that haven't heard back yet!
Bummer. Did you apply elsewhere? Are you going to try again next year?

So...you’re applying for film school, huh? I mean, that’s just my assumption. Not sure why you would bother reading this otherwise, especially with where we are currently in The Cycle of Applications. These next couple weeks are pretty much when all the major film school programs have their...

Also, please don't forget to log your application with the dates and other info. Especially with UCLA as they've changed a lot of their timings and procedures recently I believe.

It's extremely helpful to everyone this and following years.

I have not heard back from UCLA yet, I had an interview early February, I am assuming i got rejected. Anyone else not hear back ?

hey y’all! I received an email last week from the department saying that they recommended me to the graduate admissions. The official decision letter is pending a degree audit — wonder if anyone got the same thing? Does that mean I’m accepted ? I haven’t heard back since then and so nervous everyday

If the FTV department has recommended you to the graduate admission then they consider you accepted into the program, pending University Admissions can confirm you hold a Bachelor's degree. So-- yes! Congrats!

Also accepted film track and also waiting n final graduate admissions which is typically process for masters programs. Validate your transcripts etc.

Just wanted to say I was admitted on the day that all the TV track notices went out (March 12th). Just declined the offer to go to USC though, so someone should be getting off the waitlist soon!
