I just turned 21 and for a while now, I have decided I wanted to apply to film school. I've already gotten my group of colleges I'm applying to but right now I mainly want to talk about NYU.
For some context, throughout high school I was a mid of the pack student but during junior year I eventually dropped out as I had a massive amount of trips to Seoul and LA and it was so much of a hindrance to my attendance that multiple of my credits that year were being voided granted I did receive my GED that year and I don't regret how I handled my high school years as dance has taught me many things and I honestly wouldn't do my life any differently but fast forward a few years I decided to leave dance as I realized I wasn't happy anymore took a year off and unexpectedly grew a small community as a content creator made a little bit of revenue too, but ultimately I knew that I wanted to get into cinematography that's always been in the back of my mind while I don't have any rec's so far I'm building a portfolio that I feel confident in, financially I can handle the school (thank you mom & dad) and I'm planning on applying ED at the end of this year, but I can sense my education side weighing down my chances I always knew my VERY unconventional path will cause some question and I am aware I can go to community collage and "fix" this issue but i realized i have a pretty unique situation and kinda wanted to bring it to the table for discussion
