Peter Stark Producing Program Fall 2016

Hey Jose, do mind me asking when you submitted your application and had your recommendations in...well before deadline or at the deadline.

Hey Timothy, let us know what they say...I got offered a promotion at my agency and have until Friday to accept, knowing that all candidates have been reviewed and decided upon would make my decision so much easier, bittersweet I guess.

I would accept your promotion no matter what to be honest. Even if accepted that is six months in that promoted position. If you are waitlisted youll still be in purgatory lol.

Go for the acceptance of the promotion.

AS FOR THE OFFICIAL WORD FROM THE STARK OFFICE

They are in the process of notifications. No real official word. Some have been notified some have not. So we will see in the coming time of verification.

Thanks for the info. The thing about the promotion is that I would be dealing with some pretty large clients, the type of clients that pay for Super Bowl commercials, and they would want me to stay on for at least another year before moving on. One of the executives is a recommender so they know that I could leave come Fall and gave me until the end of the month to decide. I was hoping to have heard back by then but nothing so far. So I have til Friday, but I've pretty much decided that I'll be taking the promotion and apply in the fall for Spring 2017. Haven't gotten an interview request email so chances of getting one now are fairly slim.

I would accept that promotion personally. No amount of schooling is worth losing real world experience. The ultimate goal is to get you where you already are lol. I think 0_0

Yeah I'm thinking another year of experience would do me good, still fairly young. With that said, I'm going to go ahead and check out of this forum. Good luck with everything, hopefully everyone gets accepted and I don't see any familiar names this upcoming fall :)

Hi everyone,

I'm a first year Peter Stark Producing Student at USC. I'm producing a short that's filming April 2nd/3rd, April 9th/10th and April 16th/17th. If you are in LA and interested in helping out on set and meeting some Stark students, you can email me at [redacted by poster's request]. Also feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the program.

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted into the program! I look forward to meeting you in the fall.

Thanks,
Mackenzie

I haven't gotten any news either @Tunde Akinloye. After reviewing the google doc from last year, the earliest someone found out from the waitlist was April 24th. I talked to some other people and there was someone that got in the day before school started. I guess we really have to take the waitlist letter seriously when they say keep your schedule flexible!

Hi
Anyone have any hints or tips on how to get accepted into this program?. I am curious to see how many people applied to the Stark program for Fall 2016. I applied already and the interview with Richard Shepherd, went well but you never know. How do they select the candidates, based on what? Anyone knows if contacting the faculty can help out with the selection?

Best,

Jose Acevedo

I've added the Stark program to the Film School Reviews section:

USC Cinematic Arts - Peter Stark Producing Program (MFA)

If you interviewed for the school, applied to the school, currently attending, or even an alumni... it would be AWESOME if you could review the school (you can do it anonymously) or even update the School's WIKI page.

Just got the news Monday that I was accepted off of the Wait List! I couldn't be more excited!! I definitely had almost given up hope, but things have worked out. Keep the faith! I'm praying for those still waiting word, please do not give up hope!
