Not sure about waves, but I know in the interview with USC Admissions the person being interviewed emphasizes that getting an interview doesn't necessarily correlate to getting in/not getting in.

Not sure about waves, but I know in the interview with USC Admissions the person being interviewed emphasizes that getting an interview doesn't necessarily correlate to getting in/not getting in.

Based on previous stats, it’s true that getting an interview is not a guarantee of admission, but the numbers of people who got in without an interview are extremely low, so I’m not counting on that.

I wonder if the timing of your application submission influences when you receive an interview invite. That would mean the first set of invites submitted their applications early

In past years, they released them in waves and not just on one day. So we shall see. I looked in my YouSC portal and no rejection there, so I think there is some hope.

The invitation process typically unfolds over one to two weeks from the first to the last invite. Don’t lose hope; they only began sending out invitations this week.
