Hi! Ooh, I wish I’d gone to the info sesh. I’d really love to get into this program. It seems great. Plus, I love Austin, and it’s very affordable. I didn’t apply to Michener, but good luck! That would be really cool. The only fully funded program I applied to was northwestern.

Anyone get an interview request for Screenwriting? I didn’t, but I saw that one of the UT Austin production applicants did. I was just surprised, because that was the first interview I’ve ever read about for UT Austin.

According to stats on this site, they don’t do interviews for screenwriting, and decisions usually made by March 1st. Just going off of previous applicant stats! (no, have not received a request for an interview to answer your question!)

Yeah, but they usually don’t do production interviews either. I’m probably overthinking this…I’m just stressed out! Lol

Did anyone hear anything yet? I saw someone from the film production program got an acceptance on Friday. Although, it's kind of weird...I sent admissions an email asking when we can expect admissions decisions, and they responded on Thursday that they were running behind this year and to expect them in mid-February to march.

Hey, visiting from that thread. It looks (totally anecdotally) like the applicants that have gotten interviews were both international applicants. Those applicants obviously have some additional hurdles, so maybe they're just checking with those applicants for those reasons?

Yeah, the email I got definitely made it seem like they are still working on sending out acceptances.

I applied to the directing program, but no. Nothing.

I logged into the MyStatus this evening, out of curiosity and found my Michener application “denied.” The Screenwriting application is still in review...

Sorry to hear that. But at least you are still in consideration for regular screenwriting! I know that there was one other Michener applicant on this site.

On the right side it says Status: In review. But yes it also says this!

Oh yeah, I see that. I feel like we'll probably find out this week or next week. In the past they've sent out acceptances and then a few days later rejections/waitlist.
