Input needed What questions do you have for the National School of Film and Television (NFTS) Admissions department?

Big announcement: on Monday, January 17, FilmSchool.org will interview the National School of Film and Television, one of the United Kingdom's premiere film schools! For an idea of what this interview series has to offer, take a look at our interview with the American Film Institute (AFI):

How to Get Into AFI Conservatory: Exclusive Advice From the Admissions Office (Part 1)

Ask anyone about where to go to film school, and you’re bound to hear the American Film Institute Conservatory. First established in 1967, AFI is world renowned for producing pioneers and trailblazers in the film industry. In 2024, The Hollywood Reporter ranked AFI the no. 2 film program in the...

Here are a handful questions I plan to ask:

1. Do international students receive equal access to the pot of £900,000 in scholarships?
2. Can students defer their acceptance for any reason (including international students having an issue moving overseas)?
3. Describe the key differences between your Diploma course vs. your MA film programs? What type of student is the best fit for either?
4. What is your MOST competitive MA program and Diploma course?
5. Where do most of your graduates end up working?

The interview will cover both professional diplomas AND graduate admissions. You can submit your questions no later than Sunday, January 16, at 11:59 p.m. (PST).

I have a couple!

1. What percentage of MA screenwriting grads end up actually working as writers? As in, not just working in the industry in any capacity but actually as writers or in writers rooms, as writer's assistants etc. And what is the percentage within 1 year of graduating?
2. How do they compare to other film schools in the UK and what would they say sets them apart?
3. What would they say is the main difference between an MFA in the USA and an MA at NFTS.
4. How many students commute vs living/staying in Beaconsfield?
5. What is the average amount of scholarship awarded to UK students?
6. What is the dropout rate for MA Screenwriting?
7. How many applicants do they get for MA Screenwriting each year and how many places are there for the course?

Okay, it was more than a couple haha! Some might be a bit too specific but just thought I'd throw it all out there! Thank you so much for doing these, they're so helpful 🙏

Hi, I have some questions:

1. How experienced with filmmaking is the average candidate that applies to their school?
2. What is the percentage of international students that apply vs are accepted to your MA courses?
3. How does the Cannes Festival work placement contribute to the MA Producing degree as a whole? What responsibilities do students undertake in the festival particularly?
4. How diverse is the student body?
5. What is the average cost of attendance for the 2 year MA courses?

Thank you so much, looking forward to hearing from the school.
