Columbia SOA MFA Directing & Screenwriting Fall 2025

When you say, “a while”… End of day? Up until Eric leaves the office for dinner?
For others who may be curious: I checked the past two years and it looks like all the accepted calls from Eric happen within 24-48 hours of the first acceptance.

He apparently called as late as 8pm and 11pm (New York time) on the first day of acceptance calls. Looks like there were also calls on the second day, but I can’t tell how late they go. Once the third calendar day arrives, all the accepted calls seem to be finished.

Good luck to you all, accepted, waitlisted, or otherwise!

Right there with you! We got this!!
Same here. I'm curious if they've already sent out all the notifications because there are limited spots for screen and TV writing—just 12 people if I remember correctly. Last year, the notifications for the writing program were sent out earlier than those for directing. Still hopeful that we have a chance :)

Congrats everybody!!! I received an email from Eric this morning at 10:30am ET. Currently rescheduling because I was sleeping lol. I'm a little surprised as I applied for Writing for Film and TV (while being applicable for Directing and Screenwriting as well) and saw a bunch people get calls already for that program. Does this mean I'm admitted for directing and screenwriting? Did anyone else get an email today who applied for the Writing for the Film and TV program?

Waitlist here! Is it possible to be accepted from the waitlist for Columbia?
Yes our stats for being acccepted off waitlist are below:

It's low but possible. Everyone be sure to log your applications so we can improve this data. :)
