2016 Interviews- Acceptances- Rejections

@peace. @Anita B. @seok How many hits do you guys have on your vid? Congrats!
Hey @Lara ,

Thanks! It's extremely nerve wrecking. I'm not sure about the hits. I uploaded my portfolio materials on slideroom and there's no indication there. Good luck and hope more of us hear back from them soon!

Hey guys! I've been lurking around for a while but finally decided to tag along!
I got an inteview in screenwriting/directing in Columbia and just got an interview in the graduate program at Tisch :) I'm from Iceland btw. Good luck to you all :)

It's almost 6 AM in my country and I haven't heard from either NYU or Chapman. If they begin by sending notifications to international students, it's definitely a scary scenario. But I guess patience is golden at the moment, especially since I've already heard from FSU and Columbia. (2 for 2, so far)

Congrats to all for the interview invites! Remember to include your info in the spreadsheet!

Haven't heard anything from Tisch myself but I was kind of fearing so with the second youtube hit lasting only around 3minutes. I was fairly confident in my visual submission but I am guessing since we are talking Tisch here, most have impressive portfolio material to show! :)

I wonder when USC's other evaluators will start up their engines. :)

Again, congrats to those who have received the interview invites from Tisch.

Haven't heard anything from Tisch as well while NYU is the only school I am applying to. I saw they checked my video via slideroom and watched the whole video (9 mins), but still, who knows.

I emailed Susan several times but no replies yet :p

Can you see how many times did they watch your video via slideroom (Embed)? Mine's only once but there are some other viewers from Unites States every day, not sure whether some of them are from the Tisch Faculty tho.

Almost give up. :(

Are we despairing if we haven't heard from Tisch yet? Or can we cling to the hope that the first emails went to international students and ours are still coming? My anxiety knows no bounds right now.

Any idea on how many students are interviewed at Columbia? They are going to take 48 students which is a lot more than other schools. So, my guess is around 70-72 students are selected for an interview initially. Just trying to figure out the odds.

I'm curious on where you found intakes from other schools? I was under the impression that the intake of Columbia was actually modest compared to many other programs. But I base this only on previous years threads.

But I read that most programs interview aprox double the intake. But take with a grain of salt - the interwebs tends to often state guesswork as facts :)

@Paul J. Well... Tisch takes in 24, USC also takes something close to that. Some other schools take in around 30. Just a general observation, you are welcome to look it up if you want. :)

I've pretty much given up on hearing back from NYU or Columbia, but at least I've got Chapman. Someone loves my ol' country bumpkin charm.

Hi everyone - I've been stalking this forum for months and recommending it to friends, and finally decided to post and chill with some of my hopefully-future classmates!

I'm applying for directing programs, and so far have got interviews at Columbia, UCLA and Chapman (or whatever that invitation to come to campus was), so I'm feeling pretty good! I put off applying to film school for a few years so I could build my portfolio and pleased to see that it might paying off a bit? Now hoping for some follow through, eep!

And don't worry, I'll add my info to the spreadsheet :D

Hi @juliabulia and welcome to our neurotic bunch!

Glad to see you already added info into the spreadsheet :) Gold star to you, my friend!

It would seem that this Friday has been quiet on all ends and all schools?

Welcome @juliabulia! Thanks for joining the forum! :)
Well, I have to say that I'm not feeling good about UCLA, NYU, or USC. Not surprising though. I knew it would be a long shot considering how competitive the top film schools are, and I feel very grateful that I managed to get an interview with Columbia (which is my personal favorite out of the Top 5).
I'm still hoping something happens with my top choice Chapman. And I seem to be the only here (who's posting anyway) that applied to the University of Miami, so maybe that will help my chances! :p
