Acceptances/Decisions Fall '10

MFA Screenwriting

NYU- Rejected
UCLA-Rejected
Miami-Accepted
Texas Austin-Rejected
AFI- Accepted- Accepting
Northwestern- No word (suspecting rejection...)

Good luck to everyone and I look forward to meeting and working with my new classmates at AFI

NYU Production-- Rejected, Second Round
NYU Dramatic Writing-- Rejected
Columbia Film w/Screenwriting-- No word, but I'm guessing rejected by now?
USC Screenwriting-- Accepted!

Barring a miracle acceptance from Columbia, guess I'm LA-bound. A bit annoyed that USC doesn't give financial aid info until after I have to commit to them, but whatever. I guess we'll see.

Congrats to all on their hard work!

I wanted to hold off on posting here until all my decisions had come back, but I got impatient:

USC - admitted
UCLA - admitted
NYU - admitted
Columbia - <STRIKE>high waitlist</STRIKE> admitted

all for directing/production

Now deciding between NYU and Columbia - strong lean toward the latter...

Here it goes:

Screenwriting/Directing:

UCLA (Scr): Rejected
USC: Accepted.
AFI (SCR): Accepted.
NYU: Accepted.
Columbia: Accepted.

A decision has to be made!

See (some of) you next Fall guys!

Kretze and Brendon! Couple of heavy hitters!

Chapman-Accepted. Attending in Fall.

Stark: Accepted for Fall 2010

Just found this forum, quite enjoying the sense of community that appears to be here.

Now, where can I find my fellow starkies?

Starkies are all over the board. You might try creating a thread for those accepted in Fall 2010.

No. I'm driving out to Boston this weekend. But I will only have a few hours Friday evening and all day Saturday to look around. I have to make it good. I just got the Miami decision yesterday, and I don't really know anything about them. They seem good, and it is in Miami, so I am leaning toward them if I don't like Boston (the city).

Congrats Silverlinz on acceptance to Northwestern! I am still waiting to hear and basically got that I was on their waitlist... they said they had sent out all acceptances and once they got 12 spots filled they would send out the rest of the rejections, but they would keep giving offers until then. Did your letter specify when your deadline for accepting your offer is? I have another offer extended to trying to decide how long to hold them off for... I REALLY would like to go to NW.

I'll be honest I don't even care. It was at the bottom of my list of schools I applied to.

Chapman University- MFA in TV and Film Producing -(no word yet)

Columbia University-MFA in Creative Producing (No word yet and no interview)

It's unlikely that I will get into Columbia (since I didn't receive and interview), but I'm still holding out hope. I feel real honored and lucky to have gotten into Northwestern. I really like their approach to writing and think they are on to something. The only other school I'm considering is Chapman University.

PlayScreen,

Thanks for the congrats. Congrats as well for getting in. What school did you get into? BTW, I just got back from Northwestern and plan on post an in detail write up of my adventures. Make sure to take a look. As for your question I have no idea when they will offer more invites. All I can tell you is that NU doesn't require a deposit. I don't know if the school that accepts you does. How long of an extension did they give you?
